eBook, Consultation, or FastTrack: Which First Step Is Right for You

I offer three different ways to work with me on building a podcast, and I get some version of this question almost weekly: “Which one should I actually start with?” It’s a fair question, and it deserves a real answer rather than a generic “it depends.” So here is an honest breakdown of what each option is actually built for, and how to know which one fits where you are right now.

I built these three as genuinely different tools, not as a subtle upsell ladder where you’re supposed to start cheap and eventually “graduate” to the expensive one. Plenty of women land exactly where they should on their first try — the eBook is the right and only resource some women ever need. This isn’t about picking the biggest option you can afford. It’s about picking the one that matches the actual problem you’re solving.

The Three Options, Briefly

The eBook — Find Your Voice: The Woman Behind the Mic — is self-paced education. You read it on your own time, at your own pace, and it gives you the foundational roadmap for thinking through a podcast launch. The 1:1 Clarity Consultation is a single, focused session designed to answer one specific question: is a podcast even the right platform for what you’re trying to build, or would something else serve you better. FastTrack is the full 90-day accelerator — live coaching, a cohort, a structured launch timeline, and direct guidance through the entire process from concept to publish.

None of these is a “better” or “more serious” option than the others. They solve different problems, for women in genuinely different positions. The mistake I see most often isn’t picking the wrong one — it’s not being honest about which position you’re actually in before picking.

Here’s a shorthand I use when I’m talking this through with someone directly: the eBook answers “what should I know?” The Consultation answers “what should I actually do?” And FastTrack answers “how do I get this done, on a real timeline, with someone helping me the whole way?” Three different questions. All valid. Rarely the same question for the same woman at the same time.

Start With the eBook If…

You’re someone who learns well independently, and what you’re missing isn’t motivation — it’s a clear roadmap. If you’ve been circling the idea of a podcast for a while, doing research in scattered directions, and what would actually move you forward is one organized resource that lays out the thinking in order, the eBook is built for exactly that. It’s also the right starting point if budget is a real constraint right now, or if you’re not yet sure you want to commit real time or money to a podcast and want to explore the idea further before deciding anything.

The honest limitation: an eBook can’t ask you questions back. If your uncertainty isn’t about “how do I do this” but “should I even be doing this at all,” a self-paced resource will only get you so far, because that second question benefits from an actual conversation, not another page to read.

A lot of women use the eBook as exactly what it’s meant to be — a first, low-stakes step that either confirms a podcast is worth pursuing further, or clarifies that it isn’t the right platform after all. Either outcome is a genuinely useful result, and you don’t need anything more than the book itself to get there.

Start With the Consultation If…

You’re genuinely unsure whether a podcast is the right platform for your goals at all. Maybe you’ve also considered speaking, or building a stronger social presence, or a coaching offer, and a podcast is one option among several rather than an obvious, settled choice. The Clarity Consultation exists specifically to work through that decision with you — not to sell you on a podcast regardless of fit, but to figure out honestly whether it’s the right vehicle for what you’re actually trying to build.

This is also the right starting point if you’re fairly sure you want a podcast eventually, but you know you’re not ready for a 90-day commitment right now — a shorter, focused session can still move you forward without requiring the full accelerator timeline. Think of it as the smallest possible commitment that still gets you real, personalized direction instead of general information.

I’ll also be direct about something: a consultation sometimes ends with me telling a woman that a podcast isn’t the right move for her right now, or ever, given what she’s actually trying to build. That’s not a failed session. Knowing that clearly, from someone with no incentive to push you toward the more expensive option regardless of fit, is exactly the value a consultation is supposed to deliver.

Start With FastTrack If…

You’ve already moved past “should I” and you’re squarely in “how do I actually get this done.” You know your expertise is worth building a platform around, you know a podcast is the right vehicle for it, and what’s been missing isn’t clarity — it’s structure, accountability, and a deadline that isn’t self-imposed and therefore easy to quietly slide. FastTrack is built for the woman who is ready to launch inside a real timeline with real coaching, not the woman who’s still deciding whether to launch at all.

It’s also the right fit if you know from experience that you don’t finish things well without external structure. That’s not a character flaw — it’s just useful self-knowledge. A lot of brilliant, capable women have a folder of half-finished projects that never had a deadline attached to them. If that sounds familiar, the accelerator’s live cohort and fixed timeline are doing real work that a self-paced resource simply can’t replicate.

There’s a version of readiness that isn’t about confidence at all — it’s about bandwidth and timing. Some women read every word of this article, know with total certainty that FastTrack is eventually the right fit, and still aren’t in the right season of life for a 90-day commitment this month. That’s a legitimate reason to wait, not a reason to force it. The waitlist exists for exactly that timing gap.

What Happens If You Pick the Wrong One

Nothing catastrophic, honestly — but it does cost you time and, in some cases, money you didn’t need to spend yet. A woman who applies to FastTrack while still genuinely unsure whether podcasting is right for her tends to either get redirected to a consultation during the application process, or she enrolls anyway and spends the first few weeks working through a decision she hadn’t actually finished making — which eats into time that should be going toward building the show itself.

On the other end, a woman who could genuinely use live coaching and cohort accountability but keeps buying eBooks and free resources instead, hoping the next one will finally be the one that gets her to actually launch, often ends up exactly where she started — informed, but still not live. Being honest about which category you’re in saves you both directions of that mistake.

There’s a quieter cost too, on the eBook side. Some women pick the smallest possible commitment repeatedly, not because it genuinely fits, but because it feels safer than admitting they want the bigger structure. If you notice yourself doing that — reaching for the free thing again instead of the thing you actually suspect you need — that pattern is worth being honest with yourself about, separate from any resource I offer.

How These Three Connect to Trauma-to-Profit™

If you’ve read anything else on this blog, you know all of my offers sit inside the same Trauma-to-Profit™ Methodology — Recognize, Release, Rebuild, Reframe, Revenue. These three resources aren’t separate from that framework; they meet you at different points inside it. The eBook is often where Recognize starts — reading through it is frequently the first moment a woman actually names her expertise as something worth building a platform around. The Consultation tends to live in Release, helping you let go of competing ideas about which platform is right so you can commit to one direction. FastTrack picks up from there and carries you through Rebuild, Reframe, and Revenue inside a structured 90 days.

Knowing where you are in that larger arc can make the choice between these three options easier than treating it as a purely tactical decision. If you’re still working through Recognize or Release on your own, forcing yourself into FastTrack before you’re there won’t actually speed things up — it just means paying for structure you’re not positioned to use fully yet. The right offer is the one that matches your actual stage, not the one that sounds the most impressive to have started.

A Simple Way to Decide

Ask yourself one question first: am I deciding *whether* to build a podcast, or am I deciding *how* to build it? If it’s the first question, start with the Consultation or the eBook, depending on whether you want a conversation or a resource. If it’s the second question — if the decision is made and what’s missing is execution — FastTrack is almost certainly your answer. Most women already know, if they’re honest with themselves, which of those two questions they’re actually sitting in.

If you’re still not sure which question you’re asking, that uncertainty is itself useful information — it usually means you’re closer to the Consultation than to FastTrack, because a genuine “how” question rarely comes with lingering doubt about the “whether.” And if you’ve read this whole breakdown and one of the three descriptions felt uncomfortably specific to you, that’s usually not a coincidence. Trust that reaction more than a second-guessing instinct to pick the safest-sounding option instead.

What I’d Tell a Friend

If a friend asked me this exact question over coffee instead of through a contact form, here’s honestly what I’d say: don’t buy the eBook because it’s the cheapest and don’t apply to FastTrack because it’s the most serious-sounding. Buy the eBook if you genuinely want to read something on your own first. Book the Consultation if you have a real, unresolved question about whether this is even the right move. Apply to FastTrack if you already know the answer and you’re tired of not having a deadline attached to it. That’s the whole decision, stripped of any pressure to pick the option that looks best from the outside.

Key Takeaways

✓  The eBook, Consultation, and FastTrack solve different problems — none is objectively better, and the right one depends on where you are, not on ambition or budget alone.

✓  The eBook fits independent learners who need a roadmap, not motivation.

✓  The Consultation fits women still deciding whether a podcast is the right platform at all.

✓  FastTrack fits women who’ve already decided and need structure, accountability, and a real deadline to execute.

✓  The simplest diagnostic: are you deciding whether to build a podcast, or deciding how? That answer points you to the right starting place.
